James honed his business acumen during a long career on Wall Street where he specialized in FX and interest rate trading and institutional sales. He started two broker-dealers and was involved in all aspects of operations, contracts and sales working with institutions, hedge funds, family offices and ultra-high net worth clients. James has a deep understanding of global financial markets and a deftness with technology and analysis. By taking a private banking approach to real estate, he consistently delivers the total discretion and a calm, attentive demeanor that are integral to his clients' success. James works with buyers and sellers at all price-points — from studios to trophy townhouses. In fact, his first deal was the Scribner Mansion, a 25-foot-wide historical house that sold at the full asking price of $22.5 million in the first week. It was an extremely complex deal with multiple parties involved, and The Halls NYC Team ushered the transaction to its conclusion smoothly and effectively. Born in the U.K. and raised in the Caribbean, Europe and U.S., James learned early on the challenges of relocating, and he keeps those experience top of mind while striving to make his clients' transitions as seamless as possible. James and Anna reside on the Upper East Side and enjoy spending time in the Hudson Valley. His interests include skiing, hiking and playing guitar.
