Prior to fully committing to real estate, David Legaz served as an NYPD Sergeant and retired in 2002 after responding to the World Trade Center attack on September 11th, where he tragically lost his partner. That experience, along with two decades in law enforcement, shaped the way he serves his clients today: with preparation, honesty, protection, and a deep sense of responsibility.

David primarily serves the New York City market, including Queens, Manhattan, Nassau, and Suffolk. Together with his wife and business partner, Nancy, he leads The Legaz Team, one of the leading real estate teams in New York City and Long Island. With over 30 years of real estate experience, David and Nancy have built their business on integrity, local knowledge, strong negotiation, and exceptional client service.

David works with a wide range of buyers and sellers, with a specialty in helping co-op and condo owners, seniors, downsizers, and families handling estate situations navigate the often-complex New York real estate process.

He has served as a National Association of REALTORS® Director since 2013, held leadership roles at the national, state, and local levels, and co-authored Safe Selling: A Practical Guide for Preventing Crime without Sacrificing the Sale.

Outside of real estate, David enjoys family, boating, fishing, cooking, wine, and New York sports, especially the Jets and Mets.
