Lyon Porter

A former professional hockey player turned top producing broker, designer, hotelier, motelier, restaurateur, and developer, Lyon Porter is a real estate Renaissance man. Lyon possesses the unique ability to add value through all verticals of space, from residential to commercial to hospitality.

Since launching his real estate career as the "Rookie of the Year" for his firm, Lyon has enjoyed a meteoric rise that earned him a place on The Real Deal’s “Real Estate’s Rising Stars Under 35,” several features in Architectural Design and other top publications for his design work, and a growing brand of boutique hotels Urban Cowboy and The Dive Motel that he designs, owns, and operates.

Throughout his 15+ year career in brokerage, Lyon has sold everything from $62 million development sites to multi-million dollar penthouses at the storied Puck Building and The Parc Imperial, all the way to townhouses in Bedstuy and record-breaking new development towers in Harlem. He has broken every multi-family and condo price-per-square-foot record in Brooklyn and was responsible for the design and repositioning of a REIT’s 500+ individual building rental portfolio. Lyon prides himself on offering best-in-class service to an ever-growing network of friends and clients that entrust him with what is often the largest financial decision of their lives.

Lyon’s experience developing and designing his own hotels and restaurants has allowed him to approach real estate through a creative and artistic approach in a way that sets him apart from strict analytics. Instead, he combines his deep statistical market knowledge with an outside-of-the-box mindset to add value and outperform the market for his clients. It is this keen eye for design that has propelled Lyon to the upper echelon of New York brokerage.

With a Master’s in Real Estate from New York University, as well as experience in private equity, Lyon prides himself on adding value to any real estate transaction. He is committed to his clients and is passionate about helping them with the purchase or sale of their most valuable asset: their home.

In his time off, he enjoys traveling and exploring the world with his partner Jersey Banks and spending time with his daughter Banks and son, "LP3."
