Deborah Stewart

Soon after beginning her career in commercial office and retail leasing, Deborah’s professional trajectory progressed to include successful negotiation in commercial condo and coop sales. A long-time Tribeca resident, downtown has been her home for many years thus her special understanding of downtown neighborhoods. After only a few years, she became expert in the multifaceted world of commercial and live/work lofts many of which she sold around Soho, Tribeca, Flatiron, Union Square, and Chelsea. Ultimately, this led her business to include residential sales. With her vast experience and in particular her expertise and knowledge of the downtown market including the rapidly changing Financial District, Deborah has been the go-to agent for those looking to purchase commercial, medical, live/work and residential properties. Notable sale and lease transactions include York St - a specialty men’s clothing boutique retail shop on Bleecker St, Q Model Management, The Writers Room, American Friends of the Tate, Helen Ficalora, (jeweler), BW Dental, NY interventional Pain Center, Salina Restaurant, and many others. Deborah embarked on her real estate business after a successful career in the education field. At the renowned Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, she was the International Student Advisor and Program Director/Teacher of ESL. Her unique teaching skills became a special hallmark among the administration, colleagues, students, and parents. She began her language teaching as an instructor of English to Russian refugees. Her expertise with international high school students on an academic track got her invited to teach for two summers in a special program in their Continuing Education Department Perhaps Deborah picked up her affinity for teaching and her understanding for the unique needs of each client at the Stella Adler Acting School where she received her conservatory training. Deborah's eclectic background includes living overseas. She lived in Europe, mostly in France for several years, on a kibbutz in Israel where in addition to learning the right way to pick grapefruits, she tutored English. She is actively involved with Citymeals on Wheels and the Innocence Project - two organizations dear to her heart.
