In her spare time, Sandy volunteers with New York Cares and has participated in the city's annual AIDS Walk. Her hobbies include international traveling, Zumba, and swimming. She holds a degree in Business Management with a concentration in finance and a minor in Hispanic studies from Mount Saint Mary College.
