A Brooklyn native who has called Park Slope home for more than twenty-five years, Michael Tannen is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable agent who uses his lifelong New Yorker status combined with more than two decades of experience in finance and administration to the constant benefit of clients in a variety of ways. As a New Yorker for over 40 years with extensive firsthand knowledge of the real estate industry, Michael understands the unique perspective of buyers and tenants as well as owners. His personal real estate industry experience has included buying and selling multiple properties throughout Brooklyn and the Hamptons, as well as managing the complete gut renovation of a Brooklyn brownstone. As a result of his deep familiarity with multiple parts of the process, he is in the perfect position to serve as a true advocate for his buyers, sellers, and renters at every stage of the real estate transaction.

In addition, Michael’s sales experience and knowledge of financing and complex transactions have given him the business acumen and overall depth of knowledge that is crucial to negotiating deals and handling the nuances of contracts on his clients’ behalves. At Corcoran, Michael focuses on purchases, sales and rentals in both Brooklyn and the Hamptons.

Prior to his roles in real estate and finance, Michael spent five years managing political campaigns for key New York elected officials. The experience equipped him with strong communication and managerial skills that translate into smooth, seamless transactions and attentive personal service for his current clients.

Michael attended both Indiana University and the City University of New York. Outside of work, he is a volunteer and “Winter Warrior” with Habitat for Humanity, doing critical home repair. In his spare time Michael enjoys traveling, gardening, and spending time with his family. He is also an avid tennis player and cyclist. He raised funds for charity by riding his bicycle from Boston to New York twice (over 300 miles), and from San Francisco to Los Angeles (450 miles). He currently lives in Park Slope with his wife, 12-year-old daughter, two cats and a dog.
