Hailan was born and raised in Hangzhou, China, and holds six degrees, including a master's degree in communications from Peking University. She most recently graduated summa cum laude from Fashion Institute of Technology. In her free time, she enjoys visiting her Catskills home for hiking with her dog, skiing and antique shopping.
