A lifelong New Yorker with close to four decades of experience in residential and commercial real estate, Suzanne Sunshine is a dedicated and results-driven real estate professional with a passion for serving nonprofit organizations.
Combining her artistic eye for design solutions and specialized advisory skills—honed from addressing the complex commercial real estate needs of nonprofits and foundations—Suzanne offers her clients a unique and competitive advantage as they navigate the market. She regularly employs data-driven insights and advanced financial expertise, and her hospitality-driven, hands-on approach is always appreciated by those who work with her.
Suzanne’s real estate career began in 1985. She played pivotal roles in key real estate projects throughout New York City, including the groundbreaking addition of a Pathmark supermarket in Harlem and the development of the AXA Equitable Center on 7th Avenue. The latter was instrumental in transforming the area into a major corporate center through great architecture, art, public spaces, and new restaurants.
Prior to joining Brown Harris Stevens, Suzanne held executive positions at the Dana Foundation and Sunshine Group, as well as leadership roles in two Nonprofit Practice groups for Fortune 500 companies, CBRE, and Cushman & Wakefield. For eleven years, Suzanne ran Sunshine & Associates, a leading real estate advisory and brokerage firm representing hundreds of New York City nonprofits in their commercial real estate endeavors.
Suzanne earned a B.A. in International Relations from Brown University in 1985 and an MBA in Real Estate Finance from Columbia Business School in 1991. A lifelong New Yorker, she understands the city's pulse and has a keen eye for emerging opportunities. Her deep roots on the UES, where she grew up, and on the UWS—where she has resided and raised her family for 35 years alongside her husband, Bill— have given her an intimate understanding of the upper Manhattan market and its unique offerings.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Suzanne is an avid cyclist and an artist, with her abstract artworks displayed in numerous private and corporate collections in NYC and the Tri-State area. Her creative spirit and dedication to her craft are evident in every aspect of her work.
Suzanne's unwavering optimism about NYC's growth and resilience, tested many times throughout her career, makes her the ideal advisor to guide you in finding and optimizing your real estate investments, regardless of market cycles.
