Mathew Krem

Mathew Krem was raised in Phoenix, Arizona, in a family steeped in 4+ generations of real estate history. He spent his childhood absorbing all aspects of the business, from brokerage to architecture, engineering, development, construction and more – vital knowledge that became instrumental in his full-time real estate practice. His hands-on experience working on job sites with his father, coupled with his passion for building and design, led to his own career that continues to thrive. Mathew was recently elected as the Real Estate Board of New York’s Brooklyn Committee Co-Chair; plus he maintains a seat as a member of the REBNY Residential Sales Council and the Queen’s Committee. As a renovation expert, Mathew is known for his proven marketing strategy, keen eye for staging, and widespread network across various industries. He also keeps current on market trends and pricing to help realize the full potential of his clientele’s investments. After leaving the southwest, Mathew attended DePaul University in Chicago as a DePaul Leadership Scholar and triple major. Approached by celebrity chef Takashi Yagahashi to manage his eponymous fine-dining venue, he became the youngest general manager of a Michelin-star restaurant in the Midwest. Mathew was later recruited by one of the top-grossing teams in the Chicago-Metro area to manage and grow their business, while assisting with a number of trophy deals. He transitioned to the NYC market in 2015 at Corcoran’s Chelsea/Flatiron office, where he acquired an encyclopedia knowledge of neighborhoods throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. In 2017, Mathew joined the top-ranking Peters/O'Brien Team at Douglas Elliman which closed an impressive $225M in sales between 2017 and 2018 alone. ??Today he and his business partner Dain Lee bring nearly 25 years of combined experience and over $350,000,000 in closed transactions to the table. They specialize in all types of real property such as new development, resale of condos, co-ops and townhomes, rentals, 1031 exchanges, and multiunit/DHCR-regulated buildings. Mathew has garnered a reputation for selling properties previously listed unsuccessfully by other top brokers. ??Outside of real estate, he is an avid phytophile who can often be found working in his garden in the Stuyvesant-Heights area of Brooklyn. In free time Mathew additionally enjoys hiking, photography, history, food, world travel, time with his husband and their rescue dogs.
