Jose Montoya

Jose Mauricio Montoya has worked for luxury hotels for over 20 years, representing and selling iconic properties such as The Plaza Hotel, NY and Burj Al Arab, Dubai, among many. A new yorker for over 30 years, he is a graduate of Hunter College CUNY, with a major in History and Political Since.

He has traveled the world both for business and pleasure and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese with a discrete commend of Italian. 

His decades in the hotel industry, as Director of Sales both on property and globally, have given him the highest sense of customer service and an instinct that helps him walk the proverbial extra mile for all his clients. 

An avid reader of history and a lover of photography, architecture and art, Jose Mauricio has an acute sense of place and space and this makes him an effective translator of his client’s needs. While going through college in NYC, he earned a living as a licensed tour guide; this led him to create quite a strong connection to New York City, which defines everything he does in his role as a New York Real Estate Sales professional. He knows most corners of NYC and the history behind them.

For Jose Mauricio biking is not just a great exercise: He claims that biking “makes one present to the geography, the history and the true soul of neighborhoods.” His other passion is airplanes and it is quite hard to have a travel conversation with him that does not lead to a discussion on Airbus, Boeing or Embraer.
