In a break from conventional tower design, 100 11th’s main elevation is formed on a curve that traces the entire breadth of the site, an innovative gesture developed by Nouvel to maximize both street frontage and views within the building. Approximately 1,700 different windowpanes comprise the most highly-engineered, complex, and visually arresting curtain wall ever constructed in New York City. The 23-story tower is situated in close proximity to the lively Meatpacking District, the historic shops of Chelsea Market and popular critically acclaimed dining spots. Ateliers Jean Nouvel, along with BBB Architects have designed 72 one to four bedroom residences with true floor-to-ceiling windows, and select residences offering loggias, terraces and balconies. Jean Nouvel’s total-design approach is exemplified in both the kitchens and baths of the residences.
