Karen Funfgeld

Karen is the first to admit it—she’s obsessed with real estate and, as a native New Yorker, the city in which she lives. She has been in the industry for nearly 30 years, working with both residential and commercial properties. Throughout her career, Karen has amassed an invaluable, historical perspective on the changes and trends the market has experienced, and she uses these insights to benefit her clients. Karen’s extensive background includes valuation expertise, and she has served as a consultant to both developers and investors on various projects, including a start-to-finish condominium conversion that included identifying the property, construction, completion and the sale of individual units. She also specializes in commercial financing, underwriting and appraisal. Prior to joining Corcoran, Karen spent 17 years as the principal owner of Madison Appraisal Group, an appraisal and consulting firm with a client list that included lenders, developers, architects, investors, the NYS Supreme Court and individual property owners. Raised on Long Island, Karen moved to Manhattan in 1993 and never left. She graduated from NYU with a BA degree in economics, and has lived in the West Village, Upper West Side and, currently, in Hudson Heights. She is a New York State Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser and a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson. She personally owns and invests in property, because she believes there is no better investment opportunity than in New York City real estate. In addition to her work, Karen enjoys biking, skiing and tennis. She is an active member/captain of the USTA; a board member and director of Metropolitan Tennis Group. Karen also volunteers regularly at God’s Love We Deliver and Food Bank NYC.
