Discussion about 4720 Center Boulevard at 4720 Center Boulevard in Hunters Point
i have a friend who recently moved from there. the west side of the building with views of the city are very nice, though i wouldn't pay that kind of premium for views. the building doesn't have a gym, you'll have to go to another rockrose building across the street for that, and i think you have to pay extra. generally, alot of recent college grads in the building, giving it a frat house/dorm room kind of vibe.
Reviving this post, wondering if any renters/friends of renters at 4720 have anything good/bad to report? We're seriously considering making the jump and have been impressed with what we've seen. Btw, the (smallish) gym is now open in the building.
Liulide is confusing the 4630 condo building (aka east coast 3) which had some rentals with 47-20. 4720 always had a decent sized gym. Lived there for 2 years before we moved. Pros: higher floors with full west views tend to be more quiet as the rent is at a premium; club room is decent size with access to the private garden which is good for private parties but you have to reserve and pay a fee; helpful doormen/porters so problems get fixed quickly; Cons: no washer/dryer in 2 bedroom units and although we used the laundry/dry cleaning service conveniently located on ground floor often, some laundry inevitably got lost; certain floors extremely noisy with post college kids; one MAJOR a-hole doorman who still works there never opening doors for people who really need help like pregnant women or people with packages unless it's holiday tipping time or if he's flirting with you; NO on site parking so that even if you double park to unload packages, the resident ticket happy traffic cop will get you
I live across the street in the East Coast II building and think the two buildings are generally pretty similar, although run by different management. No real large complaints about the building - it's fairly quiet on my floor. Some things to note about 4720:
- If you are facing east and on a relatively low floor, you will hear noisy people in front of SHI during the weekend nights and sometimes on weekdays too, even with your windows closed. For some reason, it is somewhat of a hotspot for Queens ppl and I've been woken up at night more than once by groups of loud, drunk people hanging around outside the restaurant.
- It can get really really really windy during the colder months...so make sure you have a good umbrella and winter accessories
