The BN is on Lex and 86th is closing this Thurs, 4/30. Alot of the shelves have been emptied. It will reopen at the Lucida on 86th off Lex in mid June. The BN on 86th bet 2nd and 3rd is also closing in a couple of weeks with consolidation to the Lucida site. 2 large stores will be empty, adding to the woos of 86th St visited by the closure of Circuit City 6 months ago.

There is also empty retail space just to the east of the Lucida (betw Lex and 3rd) and all of the retail space in the Brompton on the corner of 86th and 3rd is still available. When BN moves, the block from 3rd to 2nd will feature the Brompton space, the empty BN space, then the Circuit City hole and finally the empty corner at 2nd (until Chase moves across the street into that corner, at least). Retail wasteland.

Look at Union Square, it lost a Circuit City and the Virgin Music store.

just noticed that work started on renovating what was Great Feet & the adjacent space on the NE corner of 84th & Lex - anyone know what's going there?
