Discussion about
Hi All, I am interested in a property that is going to be sold in an auction; the owner is deceased. I don't know anything about real estate auctions. Are there closing costs or other hidden fees besides the price of the property? Any valuable would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

First things first - GET A GOOD REAL ESTATE ATTORNEY who has been through this kind of scenario before! If you are seriouslty bidding, you will ned them to close the deal, reagrdless. If it turns out that the attorney turns up something problematic that stops you from bidding and saves you a fortune, than your money was well spent either way.

Hmmm - I know good people in Manhattan and Brooklyn, but not Queens. You might have to start with your own lawyer and go from there...

O.P. What ever happened with this auction? Did you go? bid? prevail? I'd love to hear what happened. Thanx.
