Discussion about
Hey Folks I am buying a place on this street-any advice, idea's, etc? Please let me know the good, the bad, the ugly. It seems pretty sweet to me. Thanks
i live in Sunnyside so am familiar with some of the area. Are you buying on Qns Blvd @ 58th, or on 58th but not ON Qns Blvd? Lots of restaurants, plenty of authentic Irish pubs.
buying on queens blvd facing the street but the apt is huge and I think I got a real good deal on it. It seems like a really chill place. and thanks
What's your price per square foot, brianjames?
Do you have kids? My former best friend lived in that area and had a horrible time with the schools. Because so many of the students language and/or cultural challenges (such as a Muslim girl who wasn't allowed to go to the library without her brother), her daughter didn't get much attention in elementary school until finally switching to Catholic school. Otherwise its a great area.
brianjames - did you like the neighborhood when you spent time out there? is your building new? what was the price per square foot?
I think the bldg has been around for awhile. I did like the neighborhood. semmed pretty chill. Don't have kids and I would think it breaks down to 300$ a sq ft.Thanks for the input everyone
I think the only minus is the noise, especially with the 7 train overhead. You may want to check and see how your apartment will adddress noise and possible vibration from the train.
Otherwise I think this is a really underrated neighborhood and this location is great. Good luck.
The 7 train turns onto Roosevelt at 49th street, so there is no overhead subway at 58th and Queens Blvd.
I'm sorry you are right; I meant Roosevelt Ave. Nevermind.
Cool Thanks for the advise
