Discussion about
Has anybody any information about a penthouse in Normandy (140 Riverside Drive)? Foe some reason, I can't find anything relevant on ACRIS.
PHD sold in 2005: http://a836-acris.nyc.gov/Scripts/DocSearch.dll/Detail?Doc_ID=2005093000025001. I don't find a listing for it anywhere, though.
NWT: my point exactly. No listings for any of their supposed "several" penthouses. Strange.
I've seen a floorplan for a duplex penthouse there, but can't find it and don't remember which one. At the NW corner, I think.
If a co-op hasn't sold since 2003, there'll be nothing on it in ACRIS except for any UCCx docs on mortgages. (I know several people who've never had a mortgage and don't show up on ACRIS at all.)
The other factor is that SE doesn't have listings from before SE started them from brokerage houses, and that's only the last several years.
So, co-op history pre-2003 is unfindable except to the extent google indexed broker's websites, most of which didn't give addresses. I think brokerages have their own database going back much further, though.
Oops, s/b "before SE started collecting them from..."
Ruttenbaum's book about Emery Roth discusses seven-room penthouses at the NW and SW corners. That'd be the 20th floor and the little 21st floors at the bases of the towers. Terraces on both levels, 17x27 living rooms, etc. Looks as if there're some one-floor penthouses, too, on the 20th floor.
