Discussion about
They seem to have interesting listings...but is the real emphasis on "seems like" ?
Just go to their management. Gary Malin I believe.

Also call his office.
I believe they want to fix that type of behavior ASAP.
I tried to find this agent on their website and couldn't. Does he still work there?
There are good agents there. Not the best commission split, sure, but you can't slander an entire company. It's unreal this is allowed by SE and on the web...where is Citi legal?
I think the poster has a genuine complaint. City Habitats is reaponsibls for their agent’s behavior.
I've worked with them with no issues. It really depends on the agent. But focused on rentals if that's what you're looking for.
Bad service, terrible and unprofessional agents. They denied everything they promised after you signed. If you’re looking for real state in nyc, AVOID this company!!!
Here's a broker who got caught red handed lying to people about the existence of multiple offers. I saw this on Pix11 the other day. He works in Cobble Hill. https://pix11.com/2019/05/07/phony-bidding-war-costs-brooklyn-apartment-buyer-thousands/
Derek, what an article. I hope he is banned from this industry.
I am not a lawyer but not sure if the buyer has a case. The broker never forced her and she was represented by a broker and lawyer. My understanding is that it is common industry practice to say that you have other offers. Most buyers broker know that it could be bullshit.
Is it puffery as in the property is so good that we have a lot of interest and offers or illegal. I do not know. Unethical yes.
Made up square footage is far bigger issue.
You guys should have seen the training manual at Bellmarc Realty. I can't believe the stuff they actually put down in writing as instructions for agents in negotiations (like submitting offers at less than the buyer actually offered to leave the agent negotiating room).
FWIW that broker was working at Corcoran at the time. I met him a year earlier and was impressed: unlike the buyers' broker we ended up using at another firm, he actually listened to my feedback and tailored his suggestions accordingly, repeatedly working hard to get our business by offering smart recommendations. Very disappointing news.
I've met several apparently great Corcoran brokers. I've met one apparently good and two definitely sketchy Citi Habitats brokers. Time to subtract one Corcoran name and add it to my sketchy Citi pile.
