Hard times are causing more homeowners to fall behind on their property taxes. But in thousands of cases, they are not responsible to their local governments, but to private companies that charge double-digit interest and thousands of dollars in service fees.
nice! those are real deals. in CA, tax liens will begin to show up from 2012 on (need 5 years of unpaid property taxes) but it seems that it's gonna happen much faster given that many banks are not taking title of foreclosures to avoid paying carrying costs. that puts the counties in the weird situation of auctioning them as tax liens or demolish them. finally it's getting interesting.
