"analysts" are retards. Right after a Deutsche Bank "analyst" predicted that NY prices would fall an additional 40%, the NY Case Shiller showed a month over month increase. "analysts" also got the latest unemployment number wrong. They predicted an increase to 9.7%, yet it declined to 9.4%.

I guess major market declines are no longer news here.

Now when the rest of the city knows this, maybe we'll have our capitulation.

There are good projections, and bad projections. Smart people can tell the difference.

However, I think the term "retard" is reserved for folks who, when the ACTUAL data says 20% down say "the market is NOT down 20%. Show me just ONE example!"

so, alpo is not really the judge of quality here.

lol nyc10022

i agree these projections can change drastically according to the asumptions used. but I would not call these analyst retards. they definitely much smarter than brokers/agents who only has hot air inside their heads.

That "retard" analyst at DB was predicting the mortgage meltdown in 2006. I think I will trust her predictions over anyone here.

By the way, she is now predicting nearly half of US mortgages will be underwater by 2011.

I also love that calling 40% down when we've already seen 20-30% declines is for "retards", but saying "THERE IS NO DECLINE" is somehow more accurate.

Can't but wonder how often The_President gets quoted in major financial journals and magazines.

if these "analysts" are so smart, then how smart were the analysts at Lehman and Bear? If they were so smart, then why are those companies gone? Isn't an analyst supposed to predict events that have the potential to bring down the company?

and if you want sound economic forecasts, then we have economists for that, not analysts (although moste economists are dumb and could not see a recession if it fell in their lap and called them daddy). Most analysts merely took a crash economics course in business school.

It might surprise you, but I believe that there is actually more than one analyst out there. They even sometimes have differing opinions and work for different companies.

"Most analysts merely took a crash economics course in business school"

that's probably one crash course more than what you took (? don't know). Sorry, but I just can't stand people calling others unqualified when they have nothing to show for themselves.

But I'm not the one being cited in the press claiming to be an expert. When your a poster on an anonymous forum, there is a lower standard.

All the time. He's the guy they get quotes from on conspiracy theories and alien abductions.

"if these "analysts" are so smart, then how smart were the analysts at Lehman and Bear? If they were so smart, then why are those companies gone?"

For reasons that had nothing to do with the, uh, analysts.

Alpo, let me make this simple for you... you're essentially the putz yelling that the plumber did a lousy job because the electrician burned the house down.

((although moste economists are dumb and could not see a recession if it fell in their lap and called them daddy).

What I love about this is that alpo is basically describing himself.

He had the re market crash land in his lap, the data screamed out and called him daddy, and his response... "THE MARKET IS NOT DOWN 20%. GIVE ME JUT ONE EXAMPLE".

Alpo is everything he's accusing others of.

why does everything you write have to be an attack against me? You simply just can't argue the merits, can you nyc10022? Why don't you just accuse me of living in NJ for the 100th time?
