I don't know if this is a factor but when I call my bank the wait time is unusually long as well as with my cell phone provider. Anyone else experiencing longer wait times as well?

Of the local small/medium banks I'm familiar with, there are lots of cutbacks, or at least not a lot of hiring. I haven't been paying too much attention, but it would not surprise me on the service side (I personally love the atms with the no envelope deposits, and I'm big on online banking).

And the credit card companies are probably the worst. I've seen every one of my cards get some sort of benefit pullback or similar. They know the new laws are going to hit profitability a LOT (every "fix" for consumers means money they won't be getting) and they're cutting costs on their side like mad now.
