Discussion about
Hi, All. How can I find out the amount that has been drawn on a new mortgage lien in a coop? Acris reported the mortgage but the amounts are blank. Suggestions? thanks.

probably because the mortgage on a coop is not a lien on real estate, but the financing of stock in the cooperative. Shouldn't really matter what the other guy paid if you are researching prices.

Very occasionally on a UCC1 the mortgage amount will be noted in some random spot. Not often enough to bother checking, unless you're looking anyway to see the number of shares or something.

As is frequently the case, an old thread has answered my current question. I would like to know the amount of the UCC1 buyer's share loan on a unit of interest to me, and I cannot seem to find it on ACRIS. The "doc amount" of the UCC1 says "0," and when I try to pull up the image of the doc itself, I get a blank screen. Do I take comments above to mean that ACRIS cannot help me here? (as opposed to my admitted lack of skill in navigating ACRIS being reason I cannot find the info I seek).

The blank screen is something to do with your browser. The [IMG] or View Document button runs some Java thingie in the browser, and can be temperamental. On my home machine with Chrome the image comes right up, but at work with Chrome there're "outdated Chrome" messages and it takes several clicks to get through.

Doesn't really matter for UCC1s, as all you'll learn is how many shares of the co-op collateralize the loan. No amounts, I guess because there's no tax collected on those so NYS/NYC don't care about the amounts.

A while back there was some talk in Albany about taxing co-op share loans, as if they were mortgages, but I don't know what's up with that.
