Every GREEDY person involved from the agents who sold the properties, to the banks who gave the mortgages to companies like AIG who bought mortgage loans they KNEW were bad and then sold them for profit. I highly doubt that ALL of these people are Democrats. I'm sure some, especially the very wealthy bankers, were Republicans too.

I think there is quite a lot of blame to go around. I would include every single person who ever said "Real estate always bounces back" or "Buy now, or be priced out forever". Not everyone who said that was a real estate broker or a wealthy banker.
