The monthly cost calculator comes in at over $12,600 per month. Shouldn't you get a decent kitchen for that monthly nut?

I'd posted that to the how-not-to-stage thread, and then felt guilty. Whoever did it 30-odd years ago liked it and saw no reason to change it. Someday that gold-plated hardware, the bathroom tile, etc. will look great again, hard as that is to imagine. Sort of like coming across perfectly-preserved 1930's stuff today.

Guessing this might make sense as a corporate crash pad or pied-a-terre for wealthy foreigner. Not really an option for a local home-owner. I will say that the Carlyle is a fantastic hotel in one of the greatest neighborhoods in the city.
