Discussion about
Would appreciate any opinions as the when the prime selling season is for the Hamptons. thanks
I would assume Spring so people can be in by Summer.
Not sure if link will work, but it is on PDE site...per report May/June are busiest months

If Hamptons companies input properties into the MLSLI, you'd have access to the months busiest for under contracts- what you're seeing are the months busiest for closings (so deduct a few months from their busiest figures). Sellers, request that your agent use the MLS- along with other resources- you'd be amazed at the info available when this service is used with consistency by all real estate companies, as is the case nationwide (except Hamptons/NYC). You guys shouldn't be kept in the dark; MLS data is common fare even in the priciest of communities, as it should be. While it means that there might just be out of area agencies showing properties, nothing wrong with potentially increased offers.
BTW: banks insist that REO's be listed in the MLS. If you're looking for Hamptons short sales (distressed sellers) or bank owned, check it out- they're there, with more to come. www.mlsli.com
eastendagent,
How do you search for REOs on that site?
Thanks
PricesNYC, mlsli recently added an REO search for agents- it's not available to the public at this time. Call your Realtor and have them do an REO only search, and it'll pull up all listed REO's - there's also available a a short sale search. Short of that, check the property descriptions, because it's usually on the listing info when you go through the properties. This is recently added stuff (the searches) so hopefully they'll make it available soon to all consumers when they type in the parameters of the search.
Prime selling season in the past has been 1Q since that is bonus season- at this point with bonuses being questionable it's anyone's guess.
