Can anyone tell me if it's possible to break a lease without penalty in manhattan? we live in a building owned by related. thanks.

I am not sure but I think the only way to do that is to find a sublessee. In this market, it will probably be tough to find a sublessee willing to pay what you agreed to but maybe you could find one willing to cover part of it . . .
