Discussion about
Oh now the downside of owning. This doesn't even mention the possibility of losing money. Beginning of a trend toward a balanced appraisal of owning/renting....one that ends in revulsion toward owning circa 2011, once the horror stories multiply and some hit close to home? http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/13/realestate/13HUNT.html

When people look at cycles, the often refer to the euphoria of the peak and the revulsion of the trough. In 1992, the idea of owning was basically revulsion stage... Much like the stock market bottom of 1982, when it was trading at the 1960s peak... The basic idea being that the asset class is just a bad idea. The converse was stocks in 1999 - they were the way to get rich or real estate in 2007, it was the best investment you could make.
