We pay $5k a month for a legit 1250sqft 2 bed in prime Carnegie Hill. It seems like a lot. However, when I look at desirable neighborhoods everything I see for $3000-4500 is much much smaller...950-1000 sqft. Am I missing something? Can you get 1200 sqft in a prime neighborhood for much less than $4500 for me to justify a move? It doesnt seem so. What does this much space go for in the West 70s in full service buildings? Whatever I click on East of Lex in the $4000 range doesnt strike me as a worthwhile trade.
We've always rented in the UES east of Lexington. Our 1600 square foot 2 bedroom/2 bathroom is quite a bit more than you're paying. I don't know much about Carnegie Hill other than there are alot of private schools in that area. What do you think of living in the carnegie Hill area?
What do you pay? How do you get up to 1600 sqft? Do you have a full dining room? That sounds nice. We love it over here. When we do go out to eat, though, we mostly go to third or second ave. There is one restaurant we like closer by, but it is not casual.
