due to unsafe comditions. people are leaving entire buildings. the whole f'n building...toast right on a nice UES block. big sign in front by Aimco...apartments for rent...this markets collapsing faster than I thought. almost starting to play into Alpies scenario of city slums. Im definitely not buyin until I see stuff like this get picked up by someone.

couldnt have been that bad. place looks totally fine. unless the back is torched. even so I guess its not worth the owners time to fix it.

Some other doc at BIS says the fire was in the cockloft (space between top-floor ceiling and roof) which destabilized the penthouse structure. Now the owner can gut the place and start over.
