RS - why don't you just start a right-wing website dedicated to Ayn Rand, Milton Friedman, and Benito Mussolini? It would save so much space on streeteasy's servers.

Did you know that Congress is giving away FREE I Love Pelosi jerseys?

RS - I could give a sh*t about your politics, but blog them where they belong. That one post you did with 75 or so posts of your own in a row was about as interesting as War and Peace, and twice as long.

Can't say this is a surprise... our already progressive tax system becoming even more progressive.

So, what's the "fair share" the lefties want the rich to pay? 100%?

nyc10022... somewhere between seeing a 2 yo eating out of the garbage can (call me left leaning at that point) and seeing Al Roker deducting his upstate home as a "farm", is where i think there should be gov't minding of our finances.

But here is the thing, if we allow ourselves (US) to become more successful based upon real productivity, the "transfer" of wealth will become meaningless... it's like buying a Porsche b/c your youngest sibling only has a Ford... at a certain "wealth" level... we will no longer need to transfer it..... so let me know when kids don't go hungry in the US and I'm in your camp... till then let's just raise the living standard for all Americans (semi-legal is okay too ; ) ), w/o this BS RE bubble... peace out.

meant buying a Porsche to your youngest sibling....

That was how I was taught in my family... don't let anyone of your siblings go hungry or w/o an education... but beyond that.... it's up to you... from my dad.

If you're offering a flat tax plus only the rich pay to feed the kids... great... where do I sign up?

But the rich are already paying BY FAR more than that...

nyc10022... FLMAO.... dude I used to think like you... then I had children... I see that these young kids going to war, not b/c they have more opportunities, but bc of a system.. that allows tax cheats to park their billions off shore, $1MMaires to deduct $1MM mortgages, Britney to deduct her jets and entourage, and my mortgage deduc on my sailboat is f'ked up.... instead of hating "our" system... look all around you and see ALL the inequalities and get rid of all of the low hanging fruit first.

1) Mortgage deductions for anyone making more than $1MM;
2) Get rid of boat mortgage deductions;
3) Eliminate just the corporate tax loopholes (transfer pricing for one);
4) Eliminate all the rich tax dodges;
5) Why do we as americans pay more per capita than any of the developed nations and get so many of us are uninsured?;

Believe me, I am not left leaning (not too much but have a soft spot for kids) but I think there is so much "fluff" b/f we need to cut services to people that need it.

I remember reading somewhere.. a true measure of a society is how it treats its least fortunate... do you think Iran has an ADA act?

The rich are all evil. Why doesn't Barack just start up his citizen militia or whatever the hell he's calling it and have them go door-to-door to the homes of people making over $200K and force them at gunpoint to surrender their bank accounts and personal belongings?
