Question: Long term Manhattan residential rent time series

I've always found the Miller Samuel data series on Manhattan residential real estate prices very interesting and useful. Would anyone know of a similar source for changes in residential rents going back as far as Miller Samuel goes back (1989) or longer?

I wouldn't trust anything pre-2000 too much. (ok, maybe 1996-7)
