Starting to furnish my new (tiny) kitchen...
without a doubt...Keurig. we are coffee lovers and now have these in both our ny apartment and SC home. no mess no fuss. plus you can use it for instant hot water. coffee is far better than other systems we have used and we order it online (free shipping) from coffeewhiz where we have found the best prices and the delivery is prompt. timothy's rainforest espresso is great in both caffeinated and decaf. Do remember to descale the pot once every few months with white vinegar though. we did lose one coffee maker because we forgot to do that but Keurig replaced it after one phone call. great customer service i think.
nespresso. have never owned a keurig but have had the nespresso for almost two years. no problems. great coffee and expresso.
Nespresso. Coffee taste much better. Machines look better.
Nespresso coffee is much more delicious. I tried to save some cash and bought a small keurig and a variety pack of pods - I have found it very difficult to find one I think tastes decent. Absolutely do some test tastings before deciding.
If you buy a Keurig get it off the company website otherwise you they won't let you return it
my jura is amazing
Jura? You mean those contraptions that cost thousands of $$$ and take up huge amounts of counter space? I bought one a few years ago and would give anything to have my money back. The coffee was weak and it was impossible to find anyone who would come out and work on the machine.
I currently have and love a Keurig but I do agree that some of the coffee is substandard. The bold Green Mountain flavors are pretty good, as is some of the Diedrich and Coffee People options.
But if the Nespresso is significantly better tasting, I may go with that. As someone mentioned, the machines are better looking than the Keurig, although I think they are also a lot more expensive...
wide range of prices...no need to go beyond the bottom of the line in terms of coffee taste. would recommend stopping into their retail store on madison in the 60's to sample the coffees and see the machines in action. they are very helpful and generally not busy. go to the back past the little restaurant and ask for a demo cup from any and all machines.
be sure to check out the milk frother/steamer if you like cappacino.
hot chocolate in those things doesn't work, btw. I tried.
I have a Keurig in my office, I find the coffee decent (I use the 10% Kona Blend). I still do a daily Starbucks run though. I also have lots of different teas for visitors.
If and when the local Starbucks gets a Clover machine, try it! I've had it in Seattle (Ethiopia Sun-Dried Yirgacheffe) and SF (tried 100% Kona beans), makes super great coffee.
Last I looked, NYC did not have a single Clover yet.
In fact, add it to the wish list for my apartment. About $11k per machine but not sure you can even buy one directly.
Grumpy has two clovers.
Sbux bought Clover, so you cannot buy them anymore. But it is "easy" to simulate with other equipment.
got the keriug as a gift, love it. it makes great coffee and takes about 30 seconds. also makes tea, hot water, cocoa. large variety of brands and flavors. i get mine at bed bath beyond. never used the other machine
Easy, iff you like real espresso buy a Nespresso, if you like long american cup of joe buy a Keurig, both are coming with multiples pods.
