Discussion about
I know this is so random, stupid, perhaps juvenile. i don't care. i'm making italian wedding soup, reading this board, and wishing my username was "garlic" instead of uwsmom. i love it. i love the taste, the smell (especially when it lingers on my fingers). i love garlic! also love peanut butter so i might choose "garlicky_peanutbutter". tough decision.

I might change my handle to this:

but I'd probably be dead in a week.

bacon, lovely.

modern, that kind of reminds me of a brunch abomination that the restaurant Duke's used to peddle. something along the lines of deep fried layered french toast with a peanut butter and bacon center. i couldn't decide if it or the bloomin' onion was more likely to induce instant heart attack. my husband had it once and said it was ethereal.

uwsmom,

That picture proves that Google's corporate motto of "do no evil" is a lie.

With you on the malbmozzarella ecs AR, do you know of a wine store around here with a good selection?
Call me really excellent old school marinara sauce. (Or mozzarella).

lizyank, it seems to me as though most of our local wine stores have really declined in quality recently. first avenue used to be fantastic, but it changed hands a couple of years ago. i can always find a decent bottle of reasonable malbec, but certainly not a good selection. at restaurants it has become my wine of choice, and there the selection has become much better.

good question, though. which wine stores still have quality, variety and decent value?

I have no nickname, but my Eurocave is routinely filled from popswine.com I love Astor, but their prices are nutty. Wine Library also has good selection and prices. Both Pops (on Long Island) and Wine Library (NJ) deliver in Mahattan for free. Pops also delivers to eastern Long Island.

Ali...I agree that latke is a good cat name. Our rescue and adoption group is always searching for creative names and with the holidays coming up that would be a good one, especially for a cat that's carrying a few lbs. Of course if you and Mr. Front Porch would like to add some feline love to your family...you can have a Latke or any name you choose!
