Discussion about
my wife and i are looking to rent a 1 bedroom 1.5 bathroom / junior 4 on the Upper East or Upper West side. We recently looked at the Wimbledon on east 82nd and 3rd avenue and loved the apartments, except they were way overpriced for the space. We are looking for a well maintained bldg/apartments. any reccomendations would be appreciated. thanks.
"Hi. We're looking for an apartment. Any recommendations would be appreciated."
Could you be more specific about what you're looking for and what your budget is?
What is your price range?
Check urbansherpa.com and nybits.com and search by neighborhood and price range to get an idea of what's available. East 82nd and 3rd is a very convenient and busy location.
Elisa, I would guess that a junior 4 bedroom in a doorman building on either 3rd, 2nd or 1st Avenue would run between $3000-$4000/month. I am not familiar with the Wimbleton, but I know many of the other rental buildings in the area. Would be happy to share any knowledge that I have about the building if you post the location here.
we are looking to spend around $3500
would like an attended lobby bldg, prefer a full time doorman but we are open. also, really would like an updated bathroom/kitchen
thanks!
Elisa, if you search urbansherpa.com by address (200 East 82nd Street), it has 3 one bedroom apartments listed for rent. Apt. 2A at $3800, 8B at $3700 and 10F at $3000. Have you seen 10F and does it compare favorably to the other 2 apartments?
Elisa, 2A at the Wimbleton is listed at nybits.com for $3260 which seems to be within your price range.
elisa, email me at streeteasymail@gmail.com. I might have an idea for you (and no, I'm not a broker. I just happen to know of a building that falls within your price range with your specified criteria).

I always forget about some of these older rentals without updated kitchens and baths, which is not ideal IMO.
Have you checked the Wellington Tower? It is 82nd St & 1st ave and a very nice building.
