Discussion about 243 East 7th Street
"This house is on one of the best and most beautiful blocks in the East Village, East 7th Street between Avenue C and D. " I don't think I've ever heard between C and D described as "most beautiful" before. Anybody know this block, is it true?

Guess what guys........ 7th between C and D has LONG been known as an oasis in the EV, long before most of the neighborhood was even livable. The legend has it that it was "colonized" by a bunch of school teachers, and while I don't know if that is true, I can tell you with 100% certainty that the block has been livable/gentrified for the better part of 3 decades even when all the surrounding blocks were close to rubble.

There is a relatively famous conversion there of a Synagogue which fetched amazing prices at the time given the location, and I don't think the addition of the Flowerbox Building (which people seem to really like aesthetically) has done anything but further improve the cache of teh block 9where did tenemental go again?)
