approximate market rates on a classic 6/7?

With the price-to-buy-vs-rent ratio still not (to what I consider to be) a favorable level, my wife and I are exploring moving into a larger rental and continuing to hold off buying. That being said, for those out there looking, what would you say are the approximate going rates for a good-sized family sized prewar apartment, preferably UWS/W.Vil (wife commutes to JC) or perhaps Brooklyn Heights. Thoughts?

Erp, meant to post this in rentals! I'd be curious to hear market rates for purchase as well, though, particularly UWS.
