Discussion about
Has anyone lived in this building? There is a straight studio (not alcove) going for 2500 with full water views. It's somewhat of a trek to the subway. I'm not sure what kind of people live here and whether it's a nice building, or if that price is fair. Any thoughts would be appreciated. As always, thank you in advance - I really appreciate it.

I think if you are young and single, it isn't a bad option in a really good location for the young and single. Water views, to me, are also great. With the doorman and a landlord that, I'm not saying they are special, isn't a slumlord or absentee, I think you might find it decent. The building isn't special though, you WILL outgrow it. I can't speak to noise or how well the plumbing or heating etc. works.

Visit friends there. No real services (doorman doesn't even pay attention) but big units and generally, a lot of young, fun people.

In the winter it feels far, far, far from subways.

USed to live in 95 Horatio across the street and loved it until my girlfriend moved in and I outgrew it. Cool people live there & great to be near meat packing and west village. Closest subway is 8th & 14th which will take you 10min to walk to.

a sibling lived across the street. Its a good neighborhood for hanging out in, always a good lively young crowd, and meatpacking close by. But a little bit of distance from the trains.

So many reasons to avoid a Rockrose building...especially this one which got destroyed in Sandy. They are still not back to normal, and running on backup utilities from a truck out in the street. If you have been living there the last 5 months, your life is hell.
