Discussion about
I'm a psychiatrist with thirty years experience looking for an upscale office on the UES near Park, Madison or Fifth. Besides word of mouth, what's the best way to look for an office like that - brokers, websites? Thanks for your help.

Positioning yourself within 5 blocks or so of Dalton would guarantee you enough income to retire within five years.

Matt is right about intense consumers of shrinkage .......
and yet I still detect a whiff of hfs in the OP.

Uncrazy's a 106-series handle, and first time posting, so not likely hfs.

I suspect it is quite unlikely that a real psychiatrist would use the handle "uncrazy."

Real psychiatrists know that we're all crazy--just not all the time.

no professional person will ever use the word "crazy". This is not a psychiatrist and it is a shame to stereotype people. He/she needs a couch

Uncrazy,
You are looking for professional medical space. Not every space is zoned for your exact useage so be aware of zoning issues. Not all residential condos allow this type of business.
This is a job for a RE broker!
Here's a great site for commercial properties: http://www.masseyknakal.com/listings/index.aspx

Uncrazy is an poor handle for a mental health care professional. Especially on a site with so many damaged little brains flaoting about.
What can I say, we put the fun in dysfuntuinal!

falcogold 1, Thanks for the suggestion. My apologies to anyone offended by my choice of handle. I thought it was a little self-deprecatory humor. Still, I'm glad to know it's a 106-series handle and not likely hfs.

I checked out the masseyknakal website. It seems to deal only with sales. I should have mentioned that I'm looking to rent, not buy, an office. Are there brokers who deal with this market?

Corcoran has somebody specializing in that (scroll down at http://www.corcoran.com/agents/hcarelistings.aspx?userid=PLW&Region=NYC) and I suppose the others do too.

If you go to craigslist there is a section on office rentals. Do a search for therapy or psychotherapy and a ton will come up.

Uncrazy: Funnily enough, I happen to know someone opening a professional office complex in that general area. The contact guy, my friend Dan G., is a psychologist as well. The following link will give you the info:

Don't rent the office where the patient knifed the shrink last year ----- female shrink killed and an old male shrink pretty damaged, also. Remember? the patient had planned to throw the female shrink into a bag and carry her off .....
In the east 80's.

Change your handle. Uncrazy is just lame (meaning obnoxious and stupid).
Not that there is a shortage of lame shrinks out there ............
