Discussion about
he seems like he's always chasing the story and pandering to populist thinking. but hasn't managed to do anything constructive. healthcare is dead, no consumer protection agency, and i don't think limiting the amount of money goldman makes helps "main street". and his speech today felt like a knee jerk reaction to massachusetts. who knows how to quantify how new york real estate is affected by politics. how about starting with the rest of the country and forcing excess inventory / short sales / foreclosures to clear? what's going on now feels like a slow bleed. just rip off the band-aid already!

I'm sick to death of all these boring political threads. Obama didn't win 100% of the vote, so does *anyone* find Obama annoying? No shit, sherlock.

What a dumb thread.

You are thanking America for electing Obama because you like his speeches? How about all the bad policies he pushes?

As for the deficits and inflation, taxpayers would be supporting the deficits through decreased purchasing power, not to mention the drag on business.

There is no way in hell that George Bush, Mitt Romney, John McCain or (fill in your preferred Republican) could have done the job-- not rhetorically, but on the substance-- that President Obama showed in his discussion with the Republican conference today. HBS, I defy you to name one Republican whose command of the issues, and whose ability to explain clearly and simply why he's staked out the positions he holds, even comes close to matching Obama.
