My boyfriend and I visited 700 Riverside Drive on Sunday and we liked the apartments but he heard the building sponsor is going through many lawsuits. Does anyone know anything about it? We like the neighborhood and the apartments but we are not sure on what consequences we might run into if we buy there

who is the sponsor? i'm guessing it might be the major developer up here...pinnacle? represented by citi-habitats?

700 Realty LLC, controlled by Praedium-something LLC, which owns and/or is converting 11 buildings on upper RSD. Nothing in eCourts on Praedium or this Patafio guy who signed their mortgage docs, but that doesn't say much.

ahhh, the building looked interesting but I have yet to check out the apts...the block seems okay, quiet enough...

like I said before, most of those listing all the way up RSD are controlled by Citi-Hab borker Sandy E.
I saw 3 apts at 725 RSD but they were all a bit too expensive...and weird kitchen-supertiny bathroom-layouts.

700 : is it walk-up?

hmm...i don't know anything about this but it wouldn't be a surprise to hear about any landlord/developer. They're all pretty much slime bags.

I do know that the RSD condos are non-eviction, and the buildings are generally well taken care of (at least in my short experience). My super is great and the building is nice. Previous renters haven't been forced out and in fact some have chosen to buy their apartments at what I think is about half price.
