Discussion about
Wondering if anyone knows anything about the building. Does it seem a little overpriced for the location (corner of 2nd Ave)?
This building is directly across the street from Julia Richman High School and there's been quite a bit of talk about how Hunter College is interested in purchasing this school and converting it into an extension for its campus. There seems to be many apartments for sale- which one are you considering?
The plans (a WBFP in every apartment, big closets, etc.) are like the Bing & Bings in the East 70s and the Village, but it apparently wasn't. Or it wasn't in the big 1985 sale.
The apartments I saw were OK but nothing special. I think it's way overpriced for the location and most exposures in the building. Besides most apartments are on 2nd ave. and I really don't feel like spending the extra cash to sleep near a fire & truck lane. Also at the end of East 68th there are multiple hospitals and medical facilities - so sirens galore, not to mention the various ambulance chasers! I don't know about the Hunter college thing, but if it's true then that is the last nail in the coffin as far as I am concerned.
Thanks for the responses. I didn't know about Hunter's plan. Was thinking about bidding on a 2 bed/2 bath, but not anymore...
Not to mention the Second Ave. subway project

Hi, does anyone know if Hunter will just use existing building or literally tear down and build up (checked out last post).
Wouldn't want to buy facing a demolition site.
