Discussion about
I'd like to replace my range with a separate cooktop and oven, but I seem to recall reading somewhere that I would need to install a separate, new, 220v outlet. Does anyone know if this is correct? Thanks

I'm not sure why a gas cooktop would need a 220v outlet. They don't use much electricity. Thermador's website, for example shows specs on theirs as 120v. Ovens that are electric or dual fuel will need the 220v, but not the all gas models.

Most manufacturer's websites have "specifications" tabs you can click for the various models that will make this clear for the brand you are looking at.

There aren't many choices for a gas wall oven, so emma63's source may have assumed it'd have to be electric.
