Discussion about
... So I started chatting with a guy in my elevator (I sold in nov 2007 and am renting). He said he was a broker showing units (rent). I asked how the market was... expecting the normal "Terrific! fabulous!" instead, he said, people are selling in renting. On the sales front, he said things are expected by his firm to continue to collapse. Hell just froze over. Honesty and reality. I am impressed.
Not to be overly cynical but maybe because he only does rentals? And not all brokers have to lie all the time, right?
"continue to collapse"...honest question: are things collapsing right now? vis a vis say a few months ago' if not, what does that statement mean?...
i ain't no bull, but honestly i want my bearish anendotes to have ring of truth....
i am in-the-middle, market view wise....so don't shoot the questioner..
by the way, those steeped in the comps threads have a much better feel than us observers as to what is happening...i find it hard to generalize
youngfamily... No. he does both -- but the sales side is "dead"
My point was that I found it startling that a broker would make such a statement to a stranger in an elevator. It is different than many. many other comments i have heard in the passt.
