Discussion about
Hello, I am looking to rent around 75th and broadway. The Astor looks nice. Has anyone here had experience with this building? Thanks for the help in advance.

I have good friends who rented there. Very nice building, professional service. I got the sense the apartments were a little expensive for what you get, but perhaps they just didn't negotiate well....

Hi John Doe, Thanks for the comments. Yes, the building looks to be very nice and they are doing some reno's to the suites. I went by the other day to take a look and they look fabulous! People there are great too!

I knew a woman who rented in The Astor many years ago. She was very happy with the building partly because she was hooked on Jeff Martin's Studio at 76th and Broadway. Now, I'm really dating myself.

I'm not an UWS fan in particular, but if you're going to pick a spot, thats it (in terms of cross street). A few blocks above the express. Some folks prefer going east or west for a little more peace and quiet though... broadway gets crowded and a little dirty.

Broadway is also very noisy so be aware when choosing floor and direction of your bedroom window. Great spot though.

last year around this time they couldn't give places in this building away...is that not the case anymore?

well, much of that was the market overall.

There are plenty of options on the UWS around as the market continues to slide, and I agree Broadway is too noisy. Try the high 70's to be closer to H&H.
