Buying at 267-273 First Street

Why would you be keen on buying an apartment in that building if you have so many misgivings? The only open house I went to there was empty. That was 4 months ago. Last week the listing broker contacted me by email inquiring if I would be interested in matching a 915K offer that he said he had for an apt. there that is listed @ 999K. I replied good luck with that. Bottom line is that the Elan, literally two doors down, is offering apartments at least 20% cheaper that those at 267-273 and those, still, are not selling either, so why bother...?

We also looked at this development and really liked #7 (even though the layout is weird) but the apartment is just severely overpriced. For the amount that they are asking for a 2BR, 2BA, you can buy a 3BR 2BA bigger apartment with a useable layout, parking space and storage at the Elan, which is right next door. And the Elan has a doorman. It just doesn't make any sense.
