this may have gotten lost in another thread so trying again...Does anyone know where one can buy odd-shaped medicine cabinets? We want to replace one but it has odd-dimensions, something like 48x21 (I have to measure again). I've had no luck anywhere...any ideas?
you can always buy a smaller one and seal up the gap
Urban Archeology used to have salvaged odd-sized cabinets.
If you're in an apartment building, check with the super. There's usually a junk room in the cellar where somebody's old one is sitting.
You could post on the Brownstoner forum and see if someone knows a cabinetmaker who would be willing to make you a custom medicine cabinet for a reasonable price.
You could also call Olde Goode Things at their hangar full of salvage in Scranton and see if they can hook you up.
Did you ask Simon's Hardware if they could provide any suggestions? How about Olde Goode Things?
Find a cabinetmaker and have it custom made. It'll be beautiful and it won't be TOO expensive. It will also be a joy forever. Lotta Irish cabinetmakers around .......
thanks for the suggestions! i will start with this list. i can't believe that it's that hard to find since the one in there now is all mirrored, including the sides & back. it looks like a standard HD cabinet but i guess not.
Sounds kind of Robern-y to me ...
