Didn't go, but as far as pricing goes it sold for far less back in '07. Asking now 1.595M

There's another 2 bedroom for 100k less on the 7th floor, different layout though. Asking now 1.495M The 7th floor one sold for $1.3M in '07

The one on the 7th floor may just be a better value. you should look at both apts if interested.

Looks as if #407 (http://streeteasy.com/nyc/sale/496158-condo-27-west-72nd-street-upper-west-side-new-york) is basing its $1,595,000 asking price on the $1,495,000 that #507 got in December. That one sat for eight months before going to contract, though.

The Olcott's a former apartment hotel, like many on that block, and the rooms are small. The condo premium seems pretty high there, as does the price of tarted-up kitchen and baths.

I saw this apartment at an open house a few weeks ago.
