Discussion about 303 East 83rd at 303 East 83rd Street in Yorkville

A Day in the life of a Camargue Resident 1) Jump out of bed because I was startled by the jack hammers which start daily between 7-730 2) Jump in the shower and adjust the temperature a dozen times because there is no temperature control. The showers are miserable 3) Wait approximately 10 minutes for an elevator because there is always at least 1 elevator not working 4) Carefully navigate through the lobby so I don't fall and break my neck. The camargue has the genius idea to clean the lobby floors EVERY MORNING during RUSH HOUR. 5) I receive my morning grunt from the miserable doorman as I say good morning 6) Now, I am outside the camargue, carefully navigating the construction that surrounds the camargue. This is an added bonus to living here 7) It is actually a relief to leave the camargue and go to work 8) Return back to camargue after work and wait another 10 minutes for an elevator because yet another elevator is out of service ( They also have the genius idea of taking one elevator out of service so they can take out the garbage DURING RUSH HOUR) 9) While in the elevator, I read the latest on how the camargue would like to inconvenience its residents. Today there is a fios installation so they are forcing their way into apartments. 10) hit the gym, however, there is always an issue with this gym. It is either closed or a machine isn't working. Tonight in fact, one of the only two treadmills isn’t working and has had a sign on it for the past 3 weeks. “Sorry for the inconvenience” (Yesterday, the gym was actually closed which was clearly not communicated to residents) This building is absolutely dreadful. It is not well maintained and the service is absolutely horrendous. It is not even close to a doorman building unless you define a doorman as a porter wearing a baseball hat who doesn’t speak English and lets anyone who enters the building upstairs without calling residents. I guess as a resident of the camargue we just need to be thankful to have running water even if it is ice cold. I am willing to lose 1 month rent just to get out of this nightmare.. [less]

Sounds about as lovely as the actual Camargue...
Yesterday I asked for my shower to be drained. Actually the camargue is good about doing apartment maintenance (just not building maintenance) However, today the maintenance gentleman RUINED by bathroom carpet. He dragged his filthy boots all over my apartment as well as my bathroom carpet. My bathroom carpet is now stained/RUINED.. Just another day at the camargue.. I feel fortunate to have water and electricity.
I truly appreciate these comments as I was just in this building looking for a unit to rent. It seems that the construction outside the building is still there. What is taking them over a year to fix?
Has anyone had this problem...
You paid the $500 building fee (along with app fee) to hold an apartment. You were told you would get the $500 back if you didn't lease with them, but you never did!??
