I understand the point of the coop and it's up to you to decide if you want to live in one. But rejecting an applicant based on a facebook profile of a child? This story may be made up but probably not, so who's the board member leaking information to the media? This is the fear of every board applicant that hands over a snapshot of their life to a bunch of strangers (Like Matt).
