Looking at an apt on the 24th floor in the West facing side of the building, will it be noisy there? Does anyone live in the building that can give some insight into it?

I looked into buying in the building, and the feedback I collected was that any apartment facing the Park Ave or 34th Street sides picks up ALL of the street noise (and dust unfortunately). The old casement windows in the building just don't filter the noise or dust. Lesser degree, but still audible from the West and North sides of the building. Tough, busy intersection as well with car accidents averaging 1 every couple of months with many cars and taxis trying to beat the light at the intersection to get crosstown or to the Midtown Tunnel entrance on 34th. Higher floors only help so much as the noise still carries up. Fire truck sirens (many fire trucks use Park or 34th as thoroughfares) tend to be loud whether you are on the 2nd or 22nd floor especially at night.
